Get Involved

Parents and families play an important role at Wellesley. By volunteering, welcoming new families, sourcing internships, or contributing annually to The Parents Fund, families help the College expand opportunities for future generations of women leaders.

Volunteer

There are several ways for interested parents to become involved with Wellesley’s parent outreach efforts and opportunities for them to engage in a relationship with the College that is independent from their student. Parent volunteers serve as representatives for Wellesley’s almost 4,000 current parents and active parents of alumnae, representing their interests while supporting the College’s strategic initiatives.

Parents Fund Committee
Engage in peer-to-peer fundraising to generate annual gifts from parents and families. Parents Fund volunteers are asked to contact other Wellesley families during the fiscal year and encourage them to support the College.

Welcome and Outreach Committee
Connect with others by making phone calls to welcome incoming families or by volunteering at on-campus family programs such as Family & Friends Weekend. Many members of this committee also volunteer to host events in their homes for alumnae, parents, and friends of the College. Events may feature a prominent administrator, faculty member, or alumna.

Career Network Committee
Help build and expand Wellesley's reputation and network in various markets, enhancing the overall value of every Wellesley College degree. Volunteer opportunities include providing internships, participating in industry-focused information panels, and offering one-on-one career advice for students.

Support The Parents Fund

Supporting the College through The Parents Fund is one way to get involved and endorse the extraordinary education and opportunities Wellesley provides its students. Gifts to The Parents Fund support virtually every aspect of a Wellesley education—internships, faculty-student research, athletics, financial aid, visiting scholars, and so much more. Gifts are expended in the same fiscal year in which they are received, providing critical budget relieving support.

Join the Parents Leadership Committee

Led by the Parents Fund co-chairs, Parents Leadership Committee ("PLC") members are Parent volunteers who provide annual financial support at a leadership-level of $2,500 or more. PLC members lead volunteer efforts to foster engagement and support of the College within the parent community. In addition to enjoying Durant Society courtesies, PLC members are invited to attend exclusive events with College leadership, including one held during Family & Friends Weekend in the fall.
