Jewett Auditorium
See access restrictions below

Join a performance with Climbing PoeTree, the spoken-word duo of award-winning hip-hop activists Alixa Garcia and Naima Penniman.

“Critical,” “powerful,” “fulfilling,” “heart-wrenching,” “magical”, “intoxicating,” “thrilling,” and “inspiring” are some of the words audience members have used to describe Climbing PoeTree’s performance in the messages that pour in after every show from individuals who profess that they have been forever changed by Alixa and Naima’s words and presence.

Snacks provided, please RSVP.

April is National Poetry Month, and in collaboration with Mass Poetry, Wellesley is encouraging all members of the community to celebrate the power of poetry to bring people together. This performance by Climbing PoeTree is one of several events taking place on campus.

Presented by: The Paulson Ecology of Place Initiative. Co-sponsored by: Environmental Studies, Harambee House, Peace and Justice Studies, Cinema and Media Studies.
