Aurora Daniel ’23
During the summer of 2022 they were the Collections Management intern at the Davis Museum and worked on processing an incoming bequest of 430 objects. She served in the U.S. Army from 2016-2018 as a Motor Transport Operator and paratrooper and was medically retired after developing PTSD caused by experiences of military sexual trauma. In 2019 Aurora enrolled at Bunker Hill Community College and began volunteering as a Web Chat Crisis Counselor for the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center. During the spring semester of their second year Aurora was the Collections Department intern for the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Through that they discovered that they could incorporate their passion for addressing the current injustices in our society through historical research and museum programming. Her future goals are to complete a curatorial internship, earn a MA in History with a focus on women’s and LGBTQ+ history, and work on museum curatorial and educational programming that centers the marginalized parts of history.
