She spent the summer of 2019 at the University of Arizona, where she conducted research regarding social-context dependent vocal pathways and song production in zebra finches. She spent the fall semester of her junior year in Copenhagen, Demark studying neuroscience and biotechnology. On campus, she is co-president of Wellesley for Boston Children’s Hospital (WBCH) and works in the Beltz neurobiology lab with a research focus on adult neurogenesis, the production of new neurons throughout an organism's lifetime. She also speaks Mandarin and English. Kelly’s goal upon graduation is to attend medical school with the goal of being able to improve health disparities in underserved populations.
