Most recently, she completed an undergraduate research assistanceship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she led the policy team on a project regarding the bureaucracy of disbarred doctors and interstate telemedicine politics. On campus, Maria is part of Wellesley's inaugural cohort of Presidential Scholars, President of Wellesley for Menstrual Equity, and a mentor for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America. She is fluent in Spanish and is working to learn her maiden country's native language, Quechua. Her next professional goal is to complete an internship at an international organization on gender-based disparities in health and development.
