In the summer of 2016 she worked as a paralegal with the staff attorney for Alternatives for Community and Environment in Boston, MA, performing a mixture of environmental case law and political asylum research. Most notably she compiled a country conditions profile detailing the persecution of Uganda’s LGBTI community for the asylum applications of two LGBTI Ugandan refugees whom her supervisor represents. On campus, Marissa works as a Student Visitor Assistant at the Davis Museum and Cultural Center and at El Table, a student-run co-op. She also is the vice president of the Class of 2019 Class Council and a DJ for WZLY, the College’s radio station. Marissa’s next professional goal is to explore work related to economic policy and the financial sector.
