In advance of Bryan Stevenson’s presentation on April 28, 2022, the Knapp Social Science Center—along with the Davis Museum and the Peace & Justice Program—invite the community to join in on a conversation about Mr. Stevenson’s acclaimed book Just Mercy. The roundtable discussion will include Wellesley Peace & Justice Studies majors, as well as members of Black and Pink Massachusetts, and will be moderated by Prof. Kellie Carter Jackson (Africana Studies).

The event will take place on Zoom on April 11, at 7:30 PM ET. If you register on or before February 28 at 5 PM and are among the first 100 registrants, you will be eligible to receive your own free copy of Just Mercy!

Panelists will include:

  • Carlos Morales, Black & Pink Massachusetts

  • Armani Pascual-Childs, Black & Pink Massachusetts

  • Elizabeth Petra ’24, Peace and Justice Studies major

  • Mia Maxwell ’25, Peace and Justice Studies major

This event fits into the broader theme of 2021-22 campus events on prison organizing and resisting the carceral state, in collaboration with the Wellesley Project on Public Leadership & Action and the exhibition Prison Nation at the Davis Museum at Wellesley College.
