Academic Fabrication and Digital Design

ATTENTION

The Fabrication Area of the Knapp Media and Technology Center is currently closed for Terms 1 and 2 in Fall 2020. This means there is no access to the multimedia editing suite, 3D printers or the sewing machine. Students can still use the physically distanced computer lab stations. We appreciate your understanding. If you have any questions, please email wellesleymakers@wellesley.edu.

Academic Fabrication and Digital Design

Please note: equipment borrowing and use of 3D printers, VR gear, and other Knapp hardware is temporarily suspended. Knapp will continue to be staffed remotely. Please direct all questions to Knapp team members.

The Academic Fabrication and Digital Design (AFADD) team is located in the Knapp Media and Tehnology Center. The AFADD team primarily helps students, staff, and faculty with both personal and academic projects that range from Virtual Reality to 3D Modeling/Printing, from Sewing to Media Production, as well as hosting workshops for members of the Wellesley Community to learn more about using these technologies.

Supervised by Knapp staff members, Knapp Interns design workshops for the campus community, Production Consultants host office hours to answer patron questions, and Circulating Equipment Assistants check equipment in and out to patrons during equipment desk hours.

Need help with Knapp software or equipment? Sundays through Thursdays from 3-8pm, Production Consultants can answer questions about iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and more!
